Training


NEI has a strong focus on employee training.

We recognise that everyone is individual, so employee training at NEI comes in many forms. Individual training goals are identified for each employee through our Employee Appraisal process.

Training Goals
Training goals are achieved through one-on-one, on the job training. Goals set comprise of skills required to do the job & the individual’s wants/interests and are linked to skills identified in the NEI Workplace Agreement. These are reviewed on a regular basis and new goals set to encourage employees to increase their skill level.

Group Training Sessions
NEI has been conducting weekly (group) employee training sessions since 2001. Topics covered in these sessions range from social skills to workplace changes & developments. These sessions have proven to improve satisfaction in our workplace & increase our employee’s confidence through knowledge gained.

Enclave Program & Employee Work Experience
NEI also can organise work experience for our employees in a wide range of Griffith based businesses.

Employees find this is very useful in smoothing transition from ‘supported’ to ‘open’ employment and building confidence and skill levels.

Eligible employees may also consider participating in a enclave program that allows individuals to work off-site with supervisory support if necessary. At NEI, our focus is on the individual with an emphasis on meeting their needs, highlighting their skills and increasing their capabilities.
