Ningana Successful in Community Participation Tender

Ningana Enterprises Inc. (NEI), is pleased to announce their success in tendering for Community Participation services in Griffith.  Community Participation comes under the NSW Dept of Ageing, Disability and Home Care and is a program which assists young people with a disability in the Griffith region to undertake activities which ensure skill development and community access.

NEI’s CEO Fiona Durham, says that from September 2006 NEI will provide a broad range of activities that will be developed in consultation with service users and their families.  These activities will include education courses and recreational activities.  “We intend to work closely with service users, their families and their existing service providers to ensure a seamless transition for people looking to move from other services to NEI.  We understand that many families may be apprehensive about changes to their current programs, however I would like to reassure the clients and their families that NEI is committed to, wherever possible, maintaining their existing programs.  We want to assure all concerned that NEI will offer, at a minimum, the level of service they are currently receiving and, as part of a NEI’s strategic planning, will look where possible, to extend these programs towards the end of the year”

NEI runs employment, supported accommodation and Transition to Work programs and is currently extending its already extensive disability support services.  These services aim to meet the needs of young people in Griffith who have a disability and who are looking at maximising their options in the local community.
